Great energy source for M18 chainsaw.
I bought the M18 chainsaw as "tool-only" thinking that my 9 Ah M18 battery would be sufficient. It works, but the 12 Ah battery is far superior, lasting much longer and not heating up. Despite the hype from other companies, I see no need for more than 18 Volts in portable power tools like the chainsaw. You can get more power by increasing current instead of voltage, which is what Milwaukee has done. So all of the M18 batteries and chargers are compatible with most M18 tools. With a selection of M18 battery packs from 2Ah to 12 AH, you can decide whether it is worth the extra weight to get longer run time. For example, the M18 hedge trimmer gets heavy very fast, so it makes sense to use smaller batteries and change them more often.
