Titlle refects authors fascination with Fisher
1 of 1 found this helpful Jackie Fisher holds a pivotal place in any 20th Century naval historians heart. He either fascinates or repels, but never ceases to captivate. This book is an intimate portrait of Fisher that, while not an in depth analysis, gives the reader an introduction to J. A. Fisher the person, not the ADMIRAL. He would have liked those caps. For those seeking a fact by fact, day by day, 1,000 page tome, this is just an preface. For those seeking an introduction to Fisher, such as one would receive sitting across from him at a dinner party, this is a treasure. He was immersed in Victorian and early 20th Century politics, and therefore is worthy on in depth biographies, but this is a unique portrayal of a multi-faceted individual.Fisher would have liked the effort, but thought the result about 5 volumes short.
