Must have for beginners. Value for money
Very good lens in its class. picture quality is excellent in day light and good in low light conditions. Considering the price of it, its a must have lens for beginers. takes excellent portraits. build quality is little poor, very plasticy and auto focus is little noisy.

Definately a recommended buy if you can score for around $650
5 of 5 found this helpful An excellent buy. I paid $607 for Canon EOS 600D or T3i or X5 Kiss along with kit lens. This is my first DSLR and very easy to setup and use. watched few learning videos about DSLR basics and my first set of photos came awesome. there are allot of features that you would expect in high end professional DSLRs. picture quality is excellent. in manual mode you can customize each and every bit of settings while it also has auto mode for quick snaps when you dont have time for settings. aperture and shutter modes are great for getting amazing pictures with very few tweaks.
