TRIANG MINIC SHIP M741 HMS VANGUARD VERY GOOD
15 February 2017
A model which has survived the passage of time very well
This Tri-ang Minic 1:1200 scale model of HMS Vanguard, the last British battleship, was first produced in (I think) 1960 and was available first in blue paintwork and later in grey. In the 1970s Hornby re-issued this model together with a number of others, each on a plastic base with 'glidewheels' - however, it was basically the same model and all variants had rotating gun turrets and cranes. Although designed for the toy market, the models were surprisingly well detailed and even now stand up well to more modern 1:1250 European models of Vanguard which cost £80 plus. However, the latter are more accurate, especially as regards the secondary armament. It depends what you want. I would certainly recommend this model if you want a reasonably inexpensive model of Vanguard although care is required as some are offered without masts and with turret damage for example. You would also probably have to pay quite a lot for a mint boxed original Vanguard. Most models will be 'playworn' although you might be lucky and find a reconditioned one. All in all you get what you pay for and I was very pleased with mine, which fits in well with my other ship models.

Pilot Epaulettes 4 Bar Gold Captain Airline Officer Costume Uniform Fancy Dress
29 December 2017
A top accessory for fancy dress!
If you want an inexpensive but good quality pilot's insignia for a fancy dress do or to play a joke on your friends, I would recommend this product. The epaulettes look to me as good as a real pilot would wear, for a fraction of the price of some you see for sale. I am entirely satisfied with the goods received.
Begemot 1/350 Royal Navy/RN Flags and Markings # 35005
05 July 2018
A very good product in my opinion
This a just the product I needed to finish off my 1/400 scale aircraft carrier. The right size roundels for the aircraft and flags for the ship itself. Educational? Well, to some extent in providing the correct Royal Navy flags and ensigns, the depth markings for the hull etc, although I haven't used all the transfers yet - I have still to try out the flags. The transfers appear quite durable and don't break up when you put varnish on as other makes often do. The entertaining bit is the instructions, translated 'interestingly' from the original Russian and are a hoot! But they still give you the gist of what to do. Overall, I would recommend this product wholeheartedly. It is to a good standard and you don't find many RN transfers in this scale.
