A beautifully drawn narrative about a young girl's struggles in mid 19th century Australia.

This is a terrific exploration of life in Australia in the mid 1800's. The main character is a beautifully drawn young girl facing some harsh challenges and the author navigates historical waters with skill and sensitivity. There are real insights here and the book doesn't shy away from some of the uglier side of life of the early settlers and the exploitation of the Aboriginal people at the time. But there is real heart here and plenty of reasons a reader would draw insights and hope from the story. Highly recommended

Sennheiser HD280 PRO Studio Monitoring Headphones

Overall I'm very happy with the HD 280's. I primarily use these for film editing. I'd previously had a pair of Sony MDR-7506s. The HD 280's have a high quality solid feel and the swivelling head pads make them very easy to put on. I was slightly disappointed with the weight...and while I can keep these on for long periods, you are aware they're perched on your head. Given the components and HQ build it may be unreasonable to expect feather-light headphones - maybe I'm a dreamer. Overall though, fantastic sound reproduction, crisp high end and beefy lows give a full, clear balanced audio experience.
