I'm glad I bought it.
pros: a splendid lens, sharp images, easy to use well.
cons: Heavy, could do with being somewhat lighter.

Compact and pocketable camera gives excellent results.
The Canon PowerShot G10 is for me an ideal go-anywhere camera for taking stills.
Good points are:
1. It fits into a pocket or purse very easily and is light enough not to be a burden.
2. The optical zoom range from wide angle to medium telephoto provides well from portraits to landscapes.
3. The micro setting is great for close ups of flowers, insects and other natural objects.
4. Picure quality is sharp even on A3 prints.
5. It has a very wide range of settings giving great flexibility.
Limitations:
1. Video quality is pretty poor - it cannot produce HD clips.
2. It is not possible to zoom while shooting video.
