The lives they left behind
This is a great book. It tells the lives of 10 patients in Willard State Hospital from 1900 to 1950. The mental health system then was horrible. It closed in 1995 and in 2004 they found a lot of patients suitcases when they checked in, and shows what was in them. Moat died there. There family's just checked them in and forgot them. A very good book. It tells the lives and stories of the patients and terrible treatment they had to a dour.
