Pioneer SK 350
This particular boombox was first released in 1982. It has AM and FM, cassette built in and AUX in which allows the use of a turntable or CD player to be attached and heard. It has the typical volume, balance and tone controls. I wish it had separate bases and treble instead of Tone. The cassette deck can play metal tapes and has Dolby playback. It also has music search so when you are playing, you can press the FF or REW buttons and it will automatically stop where the next silent space is on the tape, either indicating the beginning or end of a song. The speakers sound great and the range is very acceptable. The radio enclosure is robust with metal grills over the speaker. It's not a high end JVC or Hitachi, but this Pioneer unit packs alot of bang for the buck. As of this writing, I bought my SK 350 which is now 37 years old. It sounds like its brand new. I highly recommend this unit. As an aside, I added an Amazon Fire tablet to my Pioneer SK350. Now I can use the wi-fi capabilities to stream all my favorite music!
