Euro NOS sound at a reasonable orice
This is my second pair of these tungsram e88cc tubes. The first pair lasted approximately 4 years in the linestage of my AI M3A preamp, which is notoriously hard on tubes. They are durable, dead quiet with great natural tone, detail and dynamics, all without being overly romantic. All things considered, my favorite line stage tube.

A true high end planar headphone at a bargain price
1 of 1 found this helpful IN MY OPINION, the HE560 are a far more engaging listen than either the Sundara or the Ananda, both of which I have owned and returned to Hifiman man because I found them boring. As with most headphones, by following the trend of making them easier to drive, the newer headphones lose much of the dynamic impact of their predecessors and cannot scale the same with better source equipment the same way as their more difficult to drive older siblings. So, yes, if you plan to drive these with an iPhone or a low powered amp, look elsewhere, but if you are willing to feed them the clean power they need, you will get much more out of these headphones than any of the newer hifimans under $1000 - more bass, more dynamics, more musical detail. Highly recommended, but ONLY if you are willing to provide proper amplification.
