It is an OK book
There are some good problems in there that you can work but if you are doing this on your own, stay away. Make sure you have a good teacher teaching you otherwise the questions and work inside the book can get confusing.

Great start, but needs some work
Overall, if you're wanting to make your sprinkler smart at a fraction of the cost, go for it, but be ready to troubleshoot. It is either the device or software that is a bit buggy, likely software. Has a hard time keeping connected, especially if the router got turned off at some point. Should be able to easily reconnect. Was able to turn on sprinklers with phone and adjust programs, which is a big plus. Still winter, so haven't really gone into overdrive with playing with it. Time will tell this spring.
