Great disappointment in the end
1 of 1 found this helpful I first saw the Line 6 spider V at a Guitar Center and was able to kinda play around with it a little. Afterwards I went home and researched it a bit. What mostly caught my eye was the integrated wireless receiver for being cable free guitar playing. The other plus was remote control with an iOS/Android/PC device.
Stupid me, I mistook that meaning that besides being capable of doing wireless guitar that it was also Bluetooth/WiFi as well. I kinda figured it’d have it for the price. If even have sworn I read it. But I was also researching several other amps at the same time and just got them confused. The iOS works just fine, but I’d hardly say it’s remote as you’re pretty much tied to the map and limited to as far as your cable will reach. The app is very confusing and not very self explanatory. I’m still trying to figure it out. When I connected my iPad, I did do all the firmware updates without any problems and downloaded a few tones.
I don’t jam real loud or crank it as loud as I can on any amp... I’m not that good yet. Yet I found that the 60w really didn’t sound all that good. I had to turn it up more than I care to most of the time. It sounded much like what I heard, that there’s a wet towel over the speaker cabinet. Very muted and dull. The preset tones aren’t overly good either. Escher you have to turn it up already, some tones will blow you away because they’re set so loud or something like in the FX. So I was constantly having to adjust my guitar settings turning everything down or up depending the preset.
Would I say this amp is worth the sale price? No. Is it useful? Sure.. at home. I e not been able to try the wireless guitar feature yet, I need to buy the transmitter yet. The main purpose for why I bought the amp. Would I recommend the amp? Probably not. For a newbie, it’s dang pricey... but it does have some nice features that would be useful and enjoyable.
The other amps I was looking at... I was needing a bass guitar amp as well, and bought the Fender Rumble Studio 40 (which is Bluetooth and WiFi) that I absolutely love. I also looked at Fender Mustang GT 60/100 and the Line 6 AMPLIFi (also Bluetooth but not WiFi). After buying the Spider V 60, I really wish I’d just bought the Mustang GT. It’s pretty much the exact same as the Rumble Studio but for guitars. Same features, same layout, same app, same everything but the speakers.

Love the Watch band
I’d been looking for a good replacement Apple Watch band for my new Series 4 44mm watch when I came across this band.
I hate padded watch bands. They’re always so still and uncomfortable for months until they finally get worn in. Then they get that crease from being in the same buckled spot and it becomes difficult to change it without replacing it. I prefer genuine cowhide leather as it does soften with time and become more pliable.
This band was thin already, and fairly soft and pliable out of the box. Being vegetable tanned, it is a beautiful natural color. I think the stitching will last a good while before it starts to wear thin. But at least being genuine leather I could go back and redo the stitching when needed. Originally the sale price was set to $39.99... which really was a bit much and not worth the price... despite my really liking it. When they put it on sale for 50% off, I jumped in and immediately bought it. That was the correct price for it.
