Excellent little hard drive.
This is an excellent little hard drive and is exactly what I was looking for. I use it in conjunction with a Stellar Labs over-the-air high definition video recorder that requires an external hard drive. I needed a fast (7200 RPM) hard drive with USB 3.0 connectivity. These are a bit hard to come by in this price range since most are 5400 RPM units and a bit too slow for my application. I also needed one that was only 500 GB and most on the market now are higher capacity. My video recorder has issues with drives that are either too slow, or too large, so this unit worked perfectly. It is very small, extremely quiet and, as a USB powered unit, is one of the few 7200 RPM models that do not require an external power source (wall wart). Time will tell how durable it is, but since I use it in a fixed location and do not transport it anywhere, I'm hoping it will give me good service for a long time.

Another Great Adcom Amplifier
8 of 8 found this helpful As I have come to expect from Adcom, the GFA-5400 is a great addition to anyone's sound system. Clean, powerful, quiet with clear highs and rock solid lows it can drive complex or low impedance loads with ease. Very well constructed with large toroidal power transformer and MOSFET outputs it is a welcome addition and contributor to my 10 speaker system home theater where it also works with a GFA-5500 and is a replacement for my GFA-545II which has been given other duties. Do be certain to give the GFA-5400 room to breathe, as it will run a bit hotter than it's bi-polar GFA 545II counterpart (true of all the MOSFET designs). I have had great experiences with Adcom equipment having 4 of their power amps and 3 pre-amps. I would recommend the GFA-5400 very highly.

Exceptional Camcorder
1 of 1 found this helpful I do professional audio and video event recording and now own 3 of this model, 2 purchased new and one used on E-bay. They are exceptional units and I value them for their sharp images, excellent color, and great low-light performance along with widescreen capability. The PV-GS500 is an exceptional value in having a 3CCD sensor in this price range along with a hot shoe and great audio level adjustment capability with selectable audio AGC along with the capability to do manual audio level adjustment with or without a peak limiter. Its versatile interfaces allow me to utilize an external video hard drive recorder as well as supply audio to the camcorder from a mixer, compressor, or other audio processing equipment and match its input to the output of my other equipment. It is also very well constructed as I have had no problem with any of my units. Manual iris and shutter adjustments along with video gain are very good. My only complaint is the inability to record at lower than 1/60 s shutter speed (1/30 s would occasionally be nice), although in most situations, the low-light capability of this unit is more than adequate at the higher speed.
