Recommended drive when having read errors.
I had an older TSST TS-H653G drive that was having trouble reading a number of DVDs no matter what software I used (VLC, XINE, Handbrake, MakeMKV etc). This was the case in Linux or Windows. I'd already tried cleaning discs, upgrading software and ensuring all the correct CSS libraries etc were in place to no avail. The strange thing was it only happened on certain discs while others were fine. I bought this drive second hand and it happily read all of the DVDs that had been giving troubles and did so quite quickly so I'm very pleased with it.

Superb sound for a reasonable price.
Used in conjunction with a pair of large Paradigm floor standing speakers on a 4 channel Yamaha amp. Excellent sound quality, especially definition and separation. Great build quality.
LG BH16NS55 16x Blu-ray BDRW Internal SATA Writer OEM M-Disc

Works well on Linux system after installing extra libraries.
Installed in PC running Linux Mint so could not use supplied Cyberlink software and had to install some aacs and blu-ray libraries before it worked with VLC. This unit was from August 2019 and had firmware 1,04 in place so no good for UHD disks but fine for standard Blu-ray disks. Tested with VLC, Makemkv and Brasero (burning DVD) and all worked well. Played CD and DVDs fine as well. Nice and quiet. Recommended.
