Best all-round wireless keyboard & mouse
This keyboard has excellent comfy palm rest and good incline setting. With standard Duracell alkaline batteries they unit runs for more than 12 months. Comfy mouse shape. Highly recommended wireless setup for home use

A great value 'must-have' for any home workshop
I am a trade qualified Electronics technician with over 30 years industry experience
This little waveform generator is a beauty. I don't use it as a "calibrated source" but it's ideal for general test and analyses of projects. It can create any waveform you can think of and comes with all the standard shapes at the press of a button (Sine, square, triangle etc)
The operation panel is straight forward ( i haven't even read the manual yet which is NOT like me)
I haven't worked out how to disable the panel button 'beep' yet :))
Looking at the outputs on an oscilloscope and accurate DMM are how i set it with greater accuracy, The resolution of frequency is amazing 0.01 Hz steps (this is NOT a reflection of freq accuracy however)
PROS:
+Exceptional value for money
+0 - 10 v out
+2 channels
+Sweep function
+Freq counter up to 10Mhz (low res)
+Control software
CONS:
+Output does seem to 'jump' a little whenever you are dialing around the settings, but is stable +once you have finished setting
+The button 'beep'
+No EXT reference input option :))
+For accuracy you will need to rely on other external measurement equipment
+Voltage output resolution is too large for very small signals 10 mV - I use a resistor divider (100k/1k) or an external 40dB attenuation (is divide by 100)
+over 15Mhz the amplitude does fall off - just keep an eye on things with a scope
+Square wave is about 25ns rise time (5ns would have been nice)

A great all round hobby+ iron to get you started with SMT
2 of 2 found this helpful I am a trade qualified Electronics technician and have used many industrial station at work.
However, this is a great little station to get you started. It's not high quality, but adequate for hobby work and getting experience with surface mount soldering. It has a great selection of solder iron tips (incidentally, they are same dimensions as the Hakko 900M tips if you want to buy spares)
The built-in power supply is only 1 amp, but has overload protection and I use it to power some 12v LED strip lighting for my work bench, and also to run a 12v mini solder fume filtered fan. The volt meter function can't be taken seriously if you have your own DMM :)) but its there.
PROS:
+ Cheap :))
+ Adequate hobby use
+ straight forward use
+ great selection of tips
+ bonus mini power supply
+ Works well with lead-free OR leaded solder
+ Hot-air gun heats up fast and iron is reasonable quick
+ Hot-air gun has auto cool down and switches off when placed into holder
CONS:
+ Iron stand too light weight (need to screw a chunk of steel to the base to stop it moving)
+ Iron doesn't seem to hold the tip temperature well on larger soldering jobs, especially where components have one-end on a ground plane. Suggest upping the tip size and temp a little.
+ The solder iron tips are quite a loose fit over the element, which probably explains the iron not holding temp so well - i would suggest using some heat-sink cream as a gap filler.
+ The hot air blower works quite well. I use un-leaded solder which requires +30 deg so I did notice the handle getting a little hotter than I expected during longer re-flow jobs. Just hold it a bit higher up the handle
+ I wish the iron had a 'stand-by' button so i didn't have to manually drop temp back all the time
+ The lead length for the iron and hot-air are not very long. I like to have my station well back on the bench, so longer leads are better for me
+ The "marshmallow toaster" prongs belong with the free steak knives :))
All-in-all a great little station to get you started. I have no regrets Vs the outlay, but if you plan on doing mega amounts of hot-air re-flow you might consider a more substantial outlay.
