Good iformation for medication dosing
I'm intimidated by math, and I need a great grasp of math in order to do my job as an LPN when I graduate from nursing school. This volume determines what needs to be improved by running you through a self test to find out how proficient you are. Then you start on the examples increasing your skill level and confidence as you go. If your current job uses math daily this book will develop any weak areas you may have. Note; you will get better help elsewhere if you need a beginning math book. This tome is directed at a fairly proficient individual, the material assumes you understand basic math with some exposure to daily use of math in a job setting. If you passed your high school math, then you are a good candidate for this study course.

Older book Cuurrent uses
Doenges is one of the authors used by the current crop of nurses. This book is highly descriptive of nursing care plans, rationales and interventions. The volume was very well priced because of a less than perfect binding, and it's age. The material is current and applicable to our current practice as LPNs and RNs. My in the door price of 4.95 gives me a volume equal to the 59.95 priced books. This book is a reference source for many of the new books, check the bibliography of the one you are thinking about buying at the higher price and chances are this book is quoted. Many things don't change in this era of high technology and advences in medicine. Nursing care is always going to be, what does the nurse see is needed, what can the nurse independantly do to improve the situation, and why would the nurse do this. Explore the listings of the many older books, then think about what you need. Many times a seasoned nurse can tell you what is likely to have changed very litle in some aspects of nursing. When I have to have a high priced current book, I can save some by using online sellers. When I use standard references, I can save hundreds by using the tried and true.
