Freemie Breast Milk Collection Cups Pump Hands Free
04 December 2019
A Great Hands-Free Option to Use With My Existing Pumps
I bought these to use with my existing pumps with my third child. As a full time working mom who has made every good attempt at pumping while working long hours, I can really say that these have completely changed my pumping experience and are allowing me to continue breastfeeding where I may have otherwise stopped! I recently used these on a long road trip with our baby, and it was so easy to pump with these. The flange and valve design is pretty ingenious. I have used this with my Medela Freestyle and my Spectra S2. The pump is designed so that you just can shove your existing tubing into the tunnel and you get all of the suction that you need, no adaptors needed! For my Medela Freestyle, I just cut off the yellow end adaptors and it works like a dream. These babies just sit in my bra, and my hands are completely free and I have plenty of freedom of movement. I could pump and reach back from the passenger seat to tend the kids with no problem. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the valve is pretty slow to release the collected milk into the cup. And since the opening for the pump is in the same compartment, I've found that my letdown can fill up that chamber, leading to milk in my Medela pump tubing. So I do have to keep an eye on them; if I see the chambers filling with milk, I just reduce my suction on my pump for a little bit. I wish I could just have my suction all the way up to speed up pumping instead of having to pay so much attention to it, but I am still using pretty much only these Freemies going forward.
