TomTom XL 330(S) Car GPS Speaks Street Names-All Good
After doing some research I chose the TOMTOM XL 330S(for Speech) GPS . It comes on quickly & works right out of the box. Got a satellite signal in my house. I travel to different areas & use it everyday. It comes with a car charger & also a charger to hook up to your computer, where you can get free & paid for updates. I love that it speaks street names, but you must use standard voices, which is okay by me. The voice is loud enough to hear over traffic & other noises. The price is very reasonable, just under or over $100.00 new. It has many features(do your research)- one I like is Where Am I, which tells you where you are with latitude, longitude, closest intersection & phone numbers to nearest police, fire station, hospital etc. & how to get there driving or walking. One of the reasons, I chose TomTom XL 330S is, it speaks street names so you know what road you have to turn on to. It makes it safer to drive. Of course before you buy anything, you should do research & make sure it has all the features you need. I am very happy with my purchase.

KitchenAid K5SS 325 Watt Stand Mixer with Attachments
I bought my KA K5SS,about a month ago. I liked it so much, I added these attachments. KICA- Ice Cream Maker, KPRA-Pasta Roller. Fettucini& Spaghetti, cutter. Kitchen Aid Pasta Press(KPEXTA), Cast Aluminum Vintage Kitchenaid Hobart Meat Grinder. The K5SS is an older model, tuned up it works just like new. The 325 watt motor is very strong, compared to your average household mixer. Before you use the mixer or any attachments ,take the time to read the manual or search the internet. All attachments need to be on a certain setting(1-10)to work properly. Kitchenaid mixers can do a lot, but don't abuse them, just be informed & your mixer should last for many years. If you are handy there are Service & User guides for this model. I have used the mixer for meringue in coconut meringue cookies, it whipped my egg whites to the consistency I needed in no time, mashed potatoes-smooth, I think everything gets mixed better, when you can leave it alone to work for a few minutes, while you are getting other things ready. Some tips about attachments- When mixing dry ingredients for breads & pasta, mix with the paddle, then use the dough hook to finish, it takes a minute, but you have a better product. KA Ice cream attachment-I kept bowl frozen till ready & all other ingredients ice cold for 5 hours, Ice cream was soft serve in 5 minutes, puree or freeze added fruit, since my ice cream was ready in 5 minutes, I had to fold fruit in by hand, dasher started clicking & wouldn't spin anymore. I'll get it next time. Ice cream was great, but I need practice, Pasta attachments works great for older hands & with proper rolling pasta comes out with a very nice texture. Cook immediately, It does not have to dry before cooking.I have used it for large & small macaroni, fettuccini, rolled out ravioli.(I decided on a molded Ravioli maker, instead of the KRAV- KA Ravioli maker, just because of the reviews). I am sure it works fine, you just have to experiment. The cast aluminum Hobart meat grinder, works great, the plates are hard to find, they are under 2"&do not fit the newer KA Food grinder(different shape). I like metal for a meat grinder & the plastic KA food grinder seem to crack. I gave the KA K5SS an Excellent rating. Though it is an older model, for the budget minded, it is economical, a workhorse, compatible with newer attachments & still other uses yet to be discovered. I say GO FOR IT.

Dell Axim X50v PDA with WMP 2003 & GPS - A Good Thing
After doing a lot of research for a pda. I decided on the Dell Axim X50v. Even though, it is discontinued, it is very affordable & very viable pda, for anyone who would like the features of a newer model at a reasonable price. I bought mine used, but in great condition. Everything talked about in my review came with it. I charged the Dell & 1100 mA standard battery(& extended life batteries at the same time) in the combined charging cradle & usb sync connection overnight. It started up immediately. I installed activesync from the Windows Mobile 2003 2nd edition CD. It wouldn't work. I finally installed activesync 4.5, it installed immediately. I installed the bluetooth drivers, software for Dell bluetooth wireless keyboard. You can use bluetooth to activesync your files. Sync your files from word or most programs to your pocket pc in pocketpc format. SO far I am able to search anywhere on the internet, download my email etc.. This package came with Holux GR-271 GPS receiver(fits in the compact flash card slot) & a Garmin GPS antenna. I installed all drivers & software. The Holux software said it might not work because it is older. But it worked fine. It was snowing so I was inside & had the magnetic end of the gps receiver on the window sill. It found satellites & my location quickly. I installed Tomtom 6 Navigator on a sd card & it was also up & running. You can see why I am a happy camper. I wanted in one unit-GPS-internet,office, wi-fi wlan, bluetooth as well as other applications & I got it. The downfall is not in the unit, but I have to carry my Gps card & receiver from house to car. It is well worth the inconvenience to me to get all the features I want. I did not want phone capabilities on it.(not yet anyway) I still have a lot of discovering to do & I am not an expert. I've read you can upgrade it.I am a person that loves technology & I love to experiment & find out all the capabilities of this great little PDA. As we know there are glitches in all electronics. It gets an Excellent rating from me, for having everything I need -PDA/GPS/Internet & seems to be reliable.
