An exciting trip through Victorian Era Egypt.
This book is in mint condition. A Brodairt cover was included in the purchase price. The book was shipped as well protected as anything I've ever purchased. I especially appreciate the little extra bookmarks and the thank you card. Seeing A Large Cat is one book of the Amelia Peabody series. Amelia and her husband; Emerson; are Egyptologists who spend every winter excavating in various exciting and colorful locations in Egypt. Along the way, they encounter tomb robbers, Master Criminals, annoying aristocracy, and persistent journalists. There is not a dull moment as Amelia and Emerson bring the criminals to justice, and manage to get some archeology done as well. The author; Elizabeth Peters ( which is a pen name used by Barbara Mertz) was a graduate of The Oriental Institute and spent time transcribing hieroglyphs in Egyptian temples, so there is a lot of interesting, useful, and accurate information about Egypt, its culture, people and antiquities, to be had from these books.
