Great little device
2 of 2 found this helpful Bought this device to replace my Apple Watch, and allow me to wear my existing collection of mechanical watches. The form factor is very different from the Apple Watch, with the HR device protruding from the backside of the band, rather than a flush sensor. This leads to occasional discomfort when using a keyboard all day, but really a nit-picky preference. The band could be a little thinner--I was debating between this device and the Fitbit Alta HR, as it is on my dominant wrist, and does look a little large opposite the watch on my left wrist.
Very nice to have the sleep tracking information databased in the Garmin Connect app on my phone, so I can try and approximate how the day may go.
Overall, I ultimately decided on this device vs the Fitbit based on existing devices in the Garmin family that also link up to the Garmin Connect app (bike computer and HR chest strap). I think I'll be quite happy with this device, as the battery definitely lasts much longer than my Apple Watch, and it allows me to wear my much more elegant looking wristwatches without losing the daily activity metrics I still want to track. I purchased a refurbished model and haven't seen any issues thus far, but managed to save quite a bit of money doing so.
