Instructions were just as valuable as the product!
After you get this kit you'll be an expert in scratch restoration. The instructions go over the basic concepts of the different automotive paint layers and scratch restoration. They make it perfectly clear there is no magic wand to remove deep scratches that are down to the bare metal other than to take it to an autobody shop for a paint job. I had several scratches of different depths on my car, so i tested this kit out on several areas. I was very impressed with the results and would recommend this kit for DIYers.
Once I understood the paint layers and the scratch removal process, I realized this is just a simple kit consisting of a buffing pad for your drill, a small sample of 3000 grit automotive sandpaper, and a small packet of rubbing compound and a small packet of liquid car wax. Only the buffing pad is reusable on this kit; the sandpaper square is barely 2 inches by 2 inches and I wore it out completely. Also, the rubbing compound and wax are not in resealable pouches, so they can't be saved. I had a decent amount left over, but the tiny sandpaper square was a joke. You can buy a huge sheet of 3000 grit paper for a few bucks at the big home improvement stores.
Overall, it was a positive process and it really did well taking out the medium scratches. They warn you to not oversand, but I did that trying to smooth out a deep scratch and I sanded away the paint down to the bare metal leaving a pencil eraser sized patch of bare metal. It was my own fault and i bought a touch-up paint kit to paint the bare spot.

Totally worth a few extra bucks to get OEM
1 of 1 found this helpful This OEM licence plate frame included rubber spacers so the frame didn't scratch the paint. If you look closely at knock-off frames, the Z logo is slightly different and won't match the Z emblem on your car. Trust me, this is one of those times it's worth getting OEM. Everything fit perfectly.
