Valuable older design
Rotating collar is invaluable if your lens doesn't have one. Aperture is only communication with lens, so be prepared for that, but minus only one star as macro photography is mostly manual anyway.

Wonderful instrument
1 of 1 found this helpful These are the gold standard for relative humidity measurement. Not very convenient, but simple and accurate. Instruction manual dated mid-'80s. Identical product is still manufactured in this country, so parts are available, but with care the wick is the only part that should ever need replacement.
Mine arrived with one of the spirit thermometers separated (useless), but the mercury thermometers were perfectly matched, so it's a great instrument (and I have to be careful not to break the thermometers).
