3 YEAR WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS
The 20V battery split between the two covers and I submitted a claim to Merotec USA to replace the battery under the 3 year warranty. However, the Customer Support rep replied as follows: "I see this was purchased from e-bay and not Aldi. The warranty does not transfer to a second-hand sale on any product. Chances are these items were marked down to half price so he bought many of them to put on eBay for profit. Due to this policy, I am unable to process a warranty of any type." There is no wording in the warranty about being limited to original buyer and this Workzone reciprocating saw product ( PT160501) is only currently sold on eBay - not Aldi or any of the big DIY stores or anywhere else searched on Google. BEWARE THAT THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS !
