A good little companion
I already owned one of these and use it at home while doing stuff either listening thru headphones, the ipod clock radio, or my phillips ipod boom box. I purchased this one to take to work and use with an ipod clock radio there. That way, I don't forget it at work or at home anymore. Easy to upgrade model. My other 80 gig model's hard drive died and I replaced it with a 100 gig drive.

A great gift for a tween.
So far so good. I got this as a gift for my 12 year old daughter, to upgrade her from a 2nd gen 2 GB Nano. Battery life is better, screen is bigger and clearer, the built in fm radio and speaker is nice, the video recording capability is nice too. She will be able to use this instead of her old early model flip video camera with small recording capacity.
The only drawback I saw was the controls, specifically the size of them. For my large adult hands, the hold button is sometimes difficult to use, and there is less of a "wheel" to contact for the controls. For my daughter, no problem.
