Dreams of My Father by Barack Obama
2 of 2 found this helpful Barak Obama is a very descriptive writer. I felt almost like I was sharing his life when I read this book. Once in a while I had to remind myself that this man is now the President of the USA. Although I did not vote for him, I came to like and love him from reading his story.
After reading about the people that he tried to help in South Chicago and meeting his family in Africa, I now love my own life much, much more. I realize how very rich I really am. I am so much more grateful than I have been previously in my life. Thank you Mr. President for writing this book!
The only thing I would have liked even better would be if he made better transitions/bridges between some chapters. In some cases one doesn't know how he got from one place to another or the time that may have elapsed between one chapter and the next. For example, in one chapter he is going to school in Hawaii, and the next chapter begins with him going to High School in L.A. and there is no explanation concerning why or how that happened. There are several chapters like that and it feels a bit frustrating, or at least it did to me.
I have to say that it was inner guidance that caused me to buy the book. For some reason it came up on my computer screen when I was looking for a different book, and the price was right, and it was a "Buy it Now,"item, so I bought it and was not disappointed.
