Stellar Performer
I took a chance with this Motion 8, and was not disappointed. For years I tolerated a center channel speaker that had high coloration, low efficiency, that dragged down the quality of the front stage image even in the presence of high quality IMF Electronics studio monitors for the left and right channels. The Motion 8 integrated perfectly into the system and filled all the soundstage gaps seamlessly. It is tonally very neutral, just "warm" enough, and presents an amazingly deep front to back image. It is everything that it should be, and not what it shouldn't be. Martian Logan has made a center channel speaker that is not an insult to existing high-end audio systems capable of providing much more than the typical out-of-the-box turnkey surround sound packages. Maybe this is why I was unable to find a rating less than 5 stars ANYWHERE online before I purchased mine.

Nice remaster. Works well in DSP PL II mode. Vocals are dead center and warm and full. It is quite enjoyable. This was a great head knockin’ band in its day. It brings back a ton of memories. Get one!

My vinyl came alive again!
I originally bought this head unit to solve a signal level deficiency between my Denon DL-303 MC cartridge, still in great shape, and my preamp output. It absolutely did that. But I wasn't expecting what it did to the imaging of my 40+ y/o vinyl. Center stage was solid and R/L separation remained appropriately precise and clean! I did not have this before this HA-500 was added. For anyone getting back into vinyl again, the Denon MC cartridges and their head units are just not surpassable. You get the warm sound of tube electronics, sourced by the great Denon "pickup" combo, but playing through solid state electronics.
