One of the best cameras to start your digital journey!
2 of 2 found this helpful I've had this camera for about two years. Its been great since the very moment I got it. Best of all is how inconspicuous it is when traveling abroad. Especially in dangerous parts of the world. Snap shots discretely, check quickly whether you got it on the 2.5 inch LCD. No didnt get it. Well just try again - nothing lost.
Also for daylight pictures it has been outstanding. I have over 24 folders full of pictures now!

Great fashion piece with lota of style
2 of 2 found this helpful Love all aspects of this. From the bowl vase to the semi square face. Applied markers. Stick hands. Symmetry at 3 and 9 O'Clock with the logo and date dial. Decent lume. Also love how the seconds hand is black or blue dependent on the light. Same with the dial. It appears dark or light depending on what angle you view it from. Also notice how the indented minute markers shimmer depending on the light. Love it!
Oh and the steel mesh bracelet is great too! If u can score this at $80 or less new or even less used. Go for it!!!!

Excellent ride quality. Gorgeous. Minor gripes so far!
6 of 6 found this helpful Mine is a 2000 323Ci (Coupe) w/ sport (sport seats/suspension) and premium (sunroof, electric seats w/ 2 memory and myrtle wood trim) package. 5 speed. 60000miles so far. Black on black interior. Please keep in mind this was the first year of this body style (e46).
Overall:
I love the way this car looks. After all the years I still get second looks from people. Especially when its clean or at night. For a black car like this I definitely recommend getting tinted windows - especially if you live in the south. The interior just gets blazing hot. Get a sunshade for the windshield too.
Performance:
The ride on this car has been excellent. It is smooth quiet and rides like its on rails. Steering response is real good. The manual shifter has long throws but its really smooth and forgiving. Pulls great to pass slower cars - even though its the least powerful of the line (yet its the lightest in weight). To this day it does not veer left or right.
Reliability:
It has never left me stranded. Although you should watch for limp batteries at this age. Check to see if it still has the original battery, if so just pick up a new one at walmart. Mine died at about 40ooo miles. Make sure it has all its service records and service bulletins/recalls completed. Recommend synthetic oil changes every 75ooo miles. Oh and gas mileage is between 17-25 city, and 30-32 highway - not bad for a performance luxury coupe. Lastly, just watch for a lot of brake dust if it is using OEM BMW brake pads - clean often. Try to get one with alarm or install one yourself. Its especially safe during rain due to the dynamic stability control.
Comfort:
Outstanding. I have driven this car from Amsterdam to Innsbruck and all over western Europe. From TX to FL with 2 other adults and 2 kids in back with roof rack and trunk loaded to the rim. No problems. If you get this car get the one with the 10-way sport seats they are great. Driving this car is easy on the body. Oh and the speaker system is good despite what you hear. Ergonomics are excellent.
Quality and Craftsmanship:
Common problems are rear sub-frame damage, bad control arms and bushings after 50k miles, sticky door locks, bad window regulators, broken sunroof shades, bad 02 sensors, and window weather stripping failure. Except for the sub-frame damage, the other issues are things you can fix your self or just make sure they are not issues before you buy. By the way the e36 (previous body style) also suffers from sub-frame issues. Remember its a first year production run...
Well despite the issues that I pointed above. I have to say that everything else is top notch. The engine just purrs. Body panel fitment is perfect. Interior is top quality except for center console - gets scratched easy. Even if you get the leatherette it will outlast most leathers. Button and knob feel is great and tactile. Dont worry if it doesnt have the premium sound system - it isnt much better. Red/Orange instrumentation is real easy on eyes at night. Trunk space is great - especially with fold down seats.
