It's the real deal!!!
I was skeptical when I bought this and thought it was too good to be true, but it actually works! The only complaint I can think of is that the cpu cam in a tattered piece of cardboard that was crudely taped around the the cpu. Once I installed the cpu it worked exactly as advertised. It is a genuine i7 running at 4.0 GHz (although my benchmarking software shows it going at 4.4GHz. I have yet to overclock it, but I have faith that it will work.
