One of my favorite writers

Lisa Carver is one of those people who can get you to say things you'd never say otherwise, tell truths you might hide, get into the corners of your brain. She's like a truth serum. She makes you feel almost normal about all of the sums of your parts because she shows you that everyone has that undercurrent. Her writing is always without fail a good read. I hope she continues this book as a series, because every one would be a look into another window after dark as you drive by.

Crushworthy book, will read it again.

I have a crush on this book. It's worthy of my feelings and not many things are. I wake up and am so happy to see it on my bedside table because I know it has so many more gems in it. Wolf is the sweetest most genuine and gentle soul, and Sadie is razor sharp funny. Babysat Guy is hilarious in his own absolutely strange way, and Lisa hones it all down into this distilled beautiful book. While reading it I laugh, I get bittersweet. Even if you don't know of Lisa and her kids, this is such an interesting look into a real life, what happens, the conversations with kids and their growing up minds. I don't want it to ever be over. It's like when I was a kid and read A Wrinkle in Time. I cried when I was done reading it because I missed the characters. This book will leave you missing the real life characters.
