an absolute masterwork
This record is a masterwork by a group of prodigies who were either from Lawrence, Kansas or were living there at the turn of the century. The songs are new American standards produced in a jazz/ska style. Several members of the group contributed songs, including Tom Johnson, Brian Schey, Bradford Hoopes, and Eric Johnson. I saw this band live several times and they were incredible. Many of the members are still active in other bands.
