Motorcraft NHUB59 OEM Front Wheel Bearing And Hub For Ford Escape 2001-2012
18 June 2021
Motorcraft quality beats the off-brands you get at a parts store
Prior to making this purchase, I had put a couple of off-brand (tried two different companies) bearings in my wife's 2008 Escape with each one failing after a fairly short period of time/mileage. This is why I decided to go with a Motorcraft part. This one has lasted longer than the others and no signs of failure to date. I'm cautiously optimistic that the Motorcraft quality with last MUCH longer. This job is not fun.
Moog New Replacement Front Lower Ball Joint For Escape Tribute Mariner 2001-12
14 December 2021
The Moog ball joint was an exact fit to OEM specifications and of high quality
I bought the Moog ball joint after reading favorable reviews online, and it lived up to reputation of being a high quality replacement part. The size was exact to spec of the Ford OEM version. Very pleased.
A note of caution on installation: Moog has in indicator on the boot to point inboard during installation. It's easy to lose track of this when you're doing the job on your garage floor by yourself. Fumbling with the ball joint press, I accidentally twisted it before pressing and didn't notice. So, now the grease weep hole is pointed where it shouldn't...the brake rotor. Have to be careful not to shoot grease through and splash the rotor.
