Not a Rode PSA1, but not bad!!!
If you've looked at the Rode PSA1, and then considered one of these, then bear in mind that these ARE NOT A FULL SIZE BROADCAST ARM. They are what I would describe as 3/4 size, compared to a PSA1. However aren't bad for the price.
It is suitable for a small desk, say up to 500mmm or 600mm deep. anything deeper than that and the arm will be hyper extended, and be too close to the desk. It's not an issue with a sparse desk, but will become an issue if your desk space is limited.
The steel used in the construction, quality of the hardware and finish seem reasonable for the money, but the desk clamp and the way the actual arm mounts to the desk clamp is a bit of a let down. It's cheap, and you cant sugar coat it.
I ended up chopping the cable and connectors off that came supplied, as the shield in the cable wasn't very substantial, although the centre conductors had foil shielding. The actual XLR connectors they've used aren't too bad though.
As I had heaps of spare cable and connectors, I opted to upgraded it.
My environment is Amateur Radio, so I need it to be quiet and RF interference proof.
All in all it's a good buy. 3 and 1/2 stars
