Track Bed
I like the roll vs. strips. It just seems easier to use. I'm building dioramas so I'm using small pieces each time and the roll seems to work best for me.

The Chopper
It's a simple product and I applaud whoever invented it. I recently constructed a retaining wall which is almost 2' long (N Scale) and The Chopper made cutting the "timber" quite simple. Measure once and cut over 100 pieces of "Matchstick Timber" to exact specs is what has made me a fan of this device. I urge you to get one if you're planning any scratch building in the future. JMS
