This is a great cook book for game birds.

I bought this book because it is the only game cookbook I know of that has separate recipe chapters for diving ducks versus puddle ducks. Also, they divide up the other game birds by way of body size and meat color and match the recipes to the different flavors of bird meats. A pigeon with dark meat is not a good substitute for a Hungarian partridge with white meat, although similar in size. The recipes are pretty straightforward to prepare, and my experience with making the diving duck recipes has been a good one. Clearly the folks who made the recipes and the book knew what they were doing with real game birds. No 6 lb. DUCKLING recipes here!

This summer we fished these lures off the bottom at depths to 60 feet. In Flathead Lake we caught lake trout to 12 lbs. and lake whitefish to 6 lbs. We casted, let the sink and then swam them back to the boat. Hits were often very light at the jigs were falling back when hit.
