The best gardening reference I own!
This is an absolutely amazing book! I've been gardening for years and have found many wonderful, challenging ideas in it. The author takes the concept of perma-culture (a contraction of "permanent agriculture", an ethical design system applicable to food production and land use which seeks sustainable ways of living), and gives real life, practical examples of how people are making such changes with fantastic results. He makes difficult concepts like soil-fertility, and importance of micro-organisms easy to understand. This book has me totally re-thinking how I garden. A must have. The only thing that could make it better would be more pictures; it doesn't have many.
