Funny and enjoyable book
This is very pleasant light reading. Sarah exposes herself, family and friends in a most engaging manner. Many of her jokes are recycled from her stage performances, or maybe it's the other way around. After reading this book, I looked up some of her performances on the internet. I'd read anything else she writes.

Good wax furniture polish
For years I've been using durosil paste wax but it's no longer available and I don't like using the aerosol oils which seem to be the only things available in shops. Brown wax polish is different in texture and scent from durosil but the outcome is great. It's a solid, scratch filling product which hardens to a low sheen, exactly as I require. I'm glad to have found a good replacement.

Good for dipping into.
1 of 1 found this helpful Like all Bill Bryson's books, it is well researched, informative and entertaining. If it was a slim volume it would be good to have in the pocket if you are anticipating having to wait somewhere because the information is in bite sized pieces. Being a doorstopper though, it's better suited for a recliner chair. It's the sort of book where I like to have a notepad beside me to look up some of the interesting bits later.
