Hard to Find Ives Standard Gauge Steamer
The item was not described well. While it is made up with original parts, I believe, the parts look to have come from several sources. It seems to be a composite. For me, this is all right, but I think that it might have been mentioned in the description. The tender has been restored, and this was not mentioned. The driving wheels came from two different sources, but both pairs are probably from original sources. Other than that, the product is everything it should be. It runs very well, and will be a nice addition to my collection.

Collecting History
This produce was over built back in the 1930's when it was made. It has withstood the test of 90 years. Unlike things today, because it was made of heavy gauge metal, it will probably last another 90 years. The reason collectors like items like this is that it shows what was considered "proper" at a time when quality extended even to children's toys.
