Cabaret Voltaire - The Attic Tapes
For any Cabaret Voltaire enthusiast, this is a must. The packaged box set containig 3 CD's and a booklet define the grouls early history. Tracks begin from early recordings i imagine a Western Works Sheffield and in an 'Attic'in 1974, with samplings, track tests and an amazing unheard of track titled Exhaust. The 3 discs move on through 1974/75 through 1975/76 and 1977/78 covering 53 tracks. If your looking for the more familiar drum machine, structured Cabs repertoire, you will only find early versions of photophobia, mussolini,talk over, set up, no escape and the amazing Nag Nag Nag Why this pioneering group do not have the same demand status as Throbbing Gristle is unknown as they surely influenced so many bands of today. This is a great collection of rare, unheard of and stimulating material that is highly recommended as an item to listen to , treasure and file for posterity
