Stable, fast, compatible to Mac OSX 10.7.4,
The Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 is a very compatible Board. With the P67 chipset it is not the newest but fully compatible to MAC OSX 10.7.4, Linux and Windows. It has 2 SATA-3 ports and 4 SATA-2 ports. Two USB 3.0 and 8 USB 2.0 ports at the back. The alc 882 sound chip makes a very good sound and is also supported by OSX. You need a pciex graphics card I prefer the nvidia GT 9600 or the gtx 275 for faster graphics. It is not a luxury board compared to the GA-P67X-UD3-B3 wich has 4 SATA-3 ports and firewire as well, but for the normal user a very good and cheap choice.

a real good CPU. Very interesting for all OSX, Win7 or Linux 64-bit users.
I bought this CPU for to work on an Gigabyte GA-H77-D3H and the GA-P67X-UD3-B3. The cpu I tested on these intel chipset Main boards before is the Intel Core i5-2400. The Intel Core i5-2400 is also good, but the 2600 with 3,4 GHz is a lot faster. 8MB Cache, four real cores, eight cores using the virtualization. You can hardly use a faster 64-bit CPU. The chipset Main boards I use are always Gigabyte intel boards. For graphics card I use the Nvidia GTX285 with 1GB DDR3 graphics RAM. That system has a lot of features. You can install as well Win7 64-bit or Linux 64-bit operation systems. As a plus on this CPU and chipset you can also install a MAC OSX 10.7.4 or a 10.8.2 on it. For the normal Win7 PC user this CPU is also a very good choice. I got 16 GB Corsair Rip jaws. The windows7 64-bit professional CPU is almost the maximum of 7.6 of 7.9 points. Also 7.6 points for RAM power is my 16 GB DDR-3 Ram as it uses 1333 GHz. The internal HD graphics card is only for non-gamers. 5.5 points in the win 7 test. This is the index using maximum 1024 MB of graphics RAM and gamers will prefer graphic cards with more 3D power than 6.0 index points. The slowest part in my PC now is the Seagate SATA III disk with 5.9 points in the windows-index. It really makes sense to install on a vertex-3 with 240 GB or something better. The MAC OSX-PC user could perhaps also choose the 2600K or the lower 2500K model. The 2600K and the 2500K have the intel 3000 graphics inside. So you can use main boards with onboard graphics and also use MAC OSX that supports only HD3000/4000 wich is built-in on these... For the MAC-OSX-PC user my Nvidia GTX285 is a very good choice. 1GB DDR3-Graphics RAM and the drivers are supported by native OSX drivers for Lion 10.7.4. and 10.8.2 ML The only thins you should look for is a real good CPU cooler. The boxed intel cooler is the same than the intel i5 2400s or i5 2500k. They are almost quiet, but using more intensely gaming or graphics it runs louder. The CPU cooler for this i7-2600 should have a passive Cooling-Body with a cpu fan that can cool up to 150W and more. The CPU cooler I got on my 1366 intel i7-920 is much better. A boxed intel cooler for a i7 980x. Much better, really. You can hardly hear it any more. Using a Win7 DVD to install takes about 20 minutes, so you come to a point you better install OSX, Linux and Win per USB 2.0 or USB 3.0, depending on what your install OS supports. This takes only minutes to set up a new OS. Driver and update installations now depend more on your download rate than they need to install. But only if you use a SSD with SATA III you really will be able to have full performance. But in summary a very very good CPU compared to i3/i5 CPUs of first or second intel core i series. With about 200€ price used on Ebay the best choice ever.
