Very soothing
5 of 6 found this helpful For those who have chronic back, joint and or muscle issues, I can't recommend this highly enough. This unit serves one person. We have a king sized bed so we bought two. That way each of us can draw full value from the purpose these med massagers are made.
They are not the kind of massager which attempts a kneading action. This provides instead a vibration sent in pulses. The person has their own remote control to choose 15 or 30 minute massage and a choice of, I believe, 8 different patterns which the various pods will activate according to a preset pattern. I have arthritis and a painful back issue and this massager provides a soothing pulsating massage which helps me fall asleep. On particularly bad days I like to lay down during the day for a half hour and feel much more able to finish my day.
It does not cure pain. But it provides a soothing, gentle massage which makes each of us feel much better, much like if you strained a muscle and someone gently massaged the affected muscle. It might still feel sore but it also feels much better.
I highly recommend this product. There is nothing else on the market that provides the same soothing relief.
How you set the pods up will determine a lot about how well it works - you might find you need to set the pods up in several different areas before you find what works best for you. I advise that no pod is higher than your collarbone or the noise in your ear from the vibrations may be too much.
I didn't find enough relief with the pods placed under the whole mattress. Each of us chose to place the array of pods underneath a mattress padding rather than under the whole mattress itself. The vibrations of the pods are far more therapeutic being that much closer to the skin - that is what works for us. Each person will find what works best for them.
The price of the unit is infinitesimal compared to the length and level of comfort it provides. We use ours every single night.

2 of 2 found this helpful I ordered one for myself but my husband "test drove" it the first night, loved it so much so I just gave it to him and ordered another one for myself. If you have arthritic joints, sore muscles or just enjoy the soothing movement of the vibrating disks, this is worth every cent spent. The noise is no problem for either as we also run a noisy fan call year long for the "white noise".which helps lull us both into a restful sleep. There are many options on how you want the massaging vibration to work as well as degrees of strength - in that way there is something for everyone.
We need it for our arthritis but I would have loved this before arthritis began to bother me.
I can't recommend it highly enough - and the price is right!
