In this unusual reality series 21st century live and work in an Edwardian period English manor house. A special highlight is the very strick gender and class codes of the era. This is great fir any history buff.

Absorbing Period Drama
This series is very entertaining. It's set in the 1920's when women were searching for new roles in the world, none more so than the Elliot sisters. Both were left in straitened circumstances upon the death of their father. They pool their meager resources and break into the fashion world. This well acted period piece covers so many areas. Two would be PTSD, then known as shell shock by some of the male cast who fought the war and, women's independence to manage their own lives without male dominance.

19th century Slum Life
21st century volunteers live in a recreated East End London slum. Dressed in period cloting and working at the kind of jobs available then, they time travel through 5 decades of the life of the poor. This was an absorbing reality series.
