Hoover / Maytag Foot Pedal V2 Windtunnel # 38434026 - Handle Release Lever

It's a prefect replacement!

Note: It took me a while to figure out how to replace the broken release handle on my Hoover Hurricane v2 U8144-900, so I'll just put a note here for whoever happens to read it. ***** DO NOT try to unscrew anything and disassemble the unit to get to the handle! That is not necessary*** Look at the pivot point of the replacement handle. Notice one side has a slightly notched edge. DO NOT proceed if you don't see it on the replacement part. I'm talking about a different model than yours. To proceed... Align the replacement part over the vacuum and figure out the direction how the handle was installed. Use a long flat screwdriver to reach into the space in the direction of the notched pivot point. Try to reach the pivot point as close as possible. Slightly pry open the space using the screwdriver while wiggle/pull the broken handle out of the slot. Don't over do it! You don't need to have a big opening because notched pivot point should just slide up and out. If you feel you are about to break anything, STOP and try a little different angle. Good luck.
