Toning exercises
First of all, this is NOT a walking video. It is all floor exercises, a toning program. There are 3 segments, each 20 minutes long. The first segment works on leg muscles, the second segment works on upper body muscles and some abs, the third is more leg & rear end exercises & more abs. I use this in addition to Leslie's other walking videos. I take turns using different segments on different days. I have really noticed a different in muscle tone using this together with her walking videos! Warning: When doing the third segment, be careful! The day after I tried it for the first time, my lower body was so sore I could hardly move. If you are a beginner, take it very slowly at first, not doing as many reps as Leslie does. Gradually increase the number & number of reps you do. You should be fine then.

Weighted Balls
In this 30 minute tape, Leslie does her usual workout moves of walking in place, kicks, knee lifts and side steps, but with the difference of using weighted balls for upper body toning in the last half of the workout. Leslie is her usual chatty, motivating self, and talks with her walkers during the program. Excellent on cuing new moves. She goes through her warm-up and brisk walking before she starts the weighted ball moves at between 1 and 1 1/2 miles into it. You can very easily substitute 2 lbs weights or no weights at all. This workout is good, but I still like the 2 miles for abs best. I have several of her 2 mile workouts that I switch around for variety in the upper body toning.

Leslie Kicks It Up a Notch With This!
Leslie definitely kicks her 30 minute workout up a notch with this Walk & Kick DVD. She uses kickboxing moves & adds a little more challanging walking moves to make this more interesting - and fast! She starts with a faster paced warm up, gradually building to a fast pace with her moves of walking in place, kicking, side steps, knee lifts & kick backs. She stays at the fast pace for a while, then slows down to start a set of kick boxing moves that last a few minutes. Then it's back to the fast pace again. She alternates fast walking with sets of kick boxing about 4 times. The kick boxing moves include bobbing, weaving, punching to the side, kicking to the front & back & feedbag. Some of the kick boxing moves might be a little awkward at first, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. You're done before you know it, but you really get a good workout with this one! I've been using Leslie's workouts for several months now, and I have to say honestly that I haven't lost a single pound because of them, BUT I have really toned & firmed my muscles & body. I look & feel better, look better in my clothes - I had been starting to look really sloppy. I get compliments from my husband all the time. I alternate using several of Leslie's workout during the week. If you're looking for something a little different than her normal 2 mile walks, you should give this a try. Another plus is that weight bearing exercises help prevent bone loss, which is something I really have to watch out for.
