Pure Copper 1000ft CAT6 UV/CMX Waterproof Outdoor Direct Burial Network Cable
    17 March 2021
    Breaks in Cable
The Bad: I got a defective cable. Ran about seven 100ft lines on an exterior wall of a house, and 2 lines had breaks. I wasted time re-terminating both ends and testing them, but the tester would either not pickup any of the eight pins or would report that all eight pins had an unknown error. I removed that line and inspect it physically and no dents/kinks/scratches etc. It was the top layer of the reel so maybe just cut the top layer for future reference? Another line had intermittent issues (which is worse because it gives the illusion that it is working). I'm glad I tested all my equipment/devices BEFORE installation using other ethernet cables before using this cable, because if not I'd likely have blamed everything else but this cable. I Will not buy this product again. The Good: For others who may not have the same issue as I did, I'd recommend getting Cat6 RJ45 Passthrough tips. I still pinched the jacket just a tad with flat pliers so the jacket will go into the RJ45 jack with ease. Good technique and it doesn't damage the cables and you get twists almost all the way to the tip. The cable appears to be of high quality, is very sturdy, does not kink easily, laser etched cable description with feet used, good rip cord (I didn't use it though), good spline, appears to be almost the same thickness of a coax cable, but more flexible.
