Send in the Boys!
As a history buff and War Between the States reenactor I have been interested in those battle in which young students of military academies across the South took part. Of these the Battle of New Market and the students from the Virginia Military Institute is the best known. At a critical moment in the battle these "boys" advanced across an open field under heavy fire, engaged Yankee Infantry in hand-to-hand combat and drove them from the field, and captured an artillery piece. Not bad for a bunch of "boys", most of whom were 14 or younger.

Westward Ho!
Classic movie of the Westward Expansion of the United States during the 1800s that led to the great country that we live in today. The cast is a Who's Who of old Hollywood. A great movie for my collection, that I will watch again and again.

Indians in Gray
I read this book 55 years ago. I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it now. I have been a student of the Civil War (aka the War of Northern Aggression) since I was 6 years old. One of my favorite people and units is General (also Chief) Stand Watie and his Cherokee Cavalry that fought for the Confederate States of America, and this is the book that first introduced me to American Indians in the Civil War. Although the main character is a Yankee, it's still a good read.
