Kodak EASYSHARE M753 = Kodak Done Right
Finally, a Kodak that does not chew up battery power in a few minutes, does not feel like a sandwich bag in your hands, and actually resembles cameras costing 3 times as much! There is a God. Kodak finally fell at least under the Li-ION bandwagon, and have the neatest small battery for their business-card-sized M753 body. This type battery is clearly the way to go for now. The James Bond-looking 753 is a point-and-shoot camera done right: great battery and cheap recharges; 3x zoom and 5x digital; nice-size LCD screen; and the legendary Kodak EasyShare menus, which are easy to navigate and read. I did not need a Manual when I got my first one. No Brainer all the way. Speaking of manuals, Kodak offers the most incredible online support I've seen for their cameras. I found software downloads on their Help site dating back to Windows 3.1! Whom was alive back then? Under $100 used (or even new), you cannot do better than this camera.

Samsung DualView TL220
This is more like a phone than a camera. That is such as the folks who've designed it. It appeals to the younger generation that wants HDTV (whatever that is) and this cam does that. The wide-screen video is a major feature of this camera. Other than that, it is an average digital camera, with no special features. It's worth less than $200; please don't pay more than that for it.

Repeat after Me: Fuji's are GOOD!
Fuji FinePix digital cameras are under-appreciated in my opinion. Unlike any other camera, Fuji usually does it Better! The Z30 is a good example of their excellent engineering and innovative thinking. At first glance, it's another "clamshell" design point-and-shoot camera. But, it's very thin, unlike bulky clamshells (where the camera front slides to protect the lens and activate the camera). It has no dials or wheels to set functions; everything is done from soft-touch rubberized buttons on the camera back. An awesome solution, and one that technically predicted the move to touch-screen cameras. Huge LCD, compact and light-weight. Instant Movie button. It's the perfect camera to keep handy at all times. Once you hold this baby, you'll never want to let it go.
