DSC-H9 Digital posing as a DSLR?
5 of 6 found this helpful This is a great allrounder, whether youre a first time user, an amateur or a pro here is a camera that can take you all the way;the steady shot function is very efficient even when used with the more than adequate zoom at full extension.
The use of niteshot and low lite aperture settings can produce some amazing stills
in almost complete darkness without disturbing the scene.Having the remote is a novel feature for those family shots and the tilting screen is great when shooting at arkward angles. One of the reasons for purchasing this model was the continuous shutter function which works well with action/sport shots ;allowing you to later delete any mistimed or over exposed pics.Initially Iused a 2GB hi speed mem card with this camera however I found I was getting lines and colour blocks on some exposures so I changed to a 4Gb standard pro-duo with perfect results.
Having used SLR cameras for some years I rate this alongside most of the older Minolta's and Nikons only it does not have a manual focus feature which some may consider a disadvantage.
Feature for feature a good value recommended all rounder

excellent mini digital, clear crisp pics, faulty software
3 of 3 found this helpful We found this mini digital very easy to use. no nonsense good clear pictures in almost all adverse lighting and poor settings.
Sadly the only downfall was a camera failure after 3 days of use, apparently a shutter cover switching fault, this was quickly swopped out by casio. However having read other revues on the net it appears there may also be an inherent stabiliser/anti-shake problem which also corrupts software and shuts camera down.
Overall a good all rounder for budding amateurs.
