Great Nostalgia
I grew up in St Louis and was a streetcar buff in my high school years. This book is quite a comprehensive look at the many lines that existed in the 1940s, describing their routes, changes in service over time, and giving precise information about the final days of the lines. The photographer seems to have made particular efforts to photograph the last run of many of the lines. As a result the majority of the streetcars shown are the PCC cars, although there are some
older cars shown as well..
In photographing the cars, the photographers captured may interesting scenes of older St Louis. I wish I had the opportunity to go back to the same locations and snap them today.
