Love the Solid-State Drive
1 of 1 found this helpful The weak link in the classic Zune product is the hard drive. Sooner or later, it's gonna die. That's why I am so delighted to be able to purchase one with a solid-state drive. The one fault with this Zune is that it does not access any WiFi network for doing a sync (and I have tried it on 4 networks). This doesn't bother me personally, because I prefer using the cable to sync. The best thing about Zune is the software, which is easy to use and reliable. I tried an iPod, and it choked on several MP3s in my collection that Zunes take in stride.

sounds a bit tinny
I have been using iLuv City Lights earbuds (now discontinued) for years, and compared to them, the Panasonic earbuds produce a somewhat tinny sound. It seems as if the bass end of the spectrum is not coming through as well. One big advantage of the Panasonic earbuds is the L-shaped plug. The straight plug that you find on most other earbuds puts strain on the socket. Worse, the constant flexing of the wire where it comes out of the plug eventually leads to one of the internal wires breaking right there so you lose one channel and have to buy a new pair. I believe that a wire that comes out at a right angle will flex less, and therefore this pair will last longer. We'll see!

Good sound, light weight
These earbuds produce good sound output, especially at the bass end of the spectrum. They are comfortable and come with extra pairs of pink ear-canal cushions--in two sizes. The cord is long enough that I can carry my MP3 player or phone in my back pocket. As with any set of earbuds, the flexing of the cord near the plug eventually breaks one of the wires, but they are no more prone to this breakage than any other set. That's why I have repeatedly bought these (in whatever color was available at the time) whenever I have needed to replace a set.
