Spiritual Disciplines Handbook by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun
A friend had given me this book and I devoured it, since then I have purchased several copies for friends. This is one of the best resource books for Christians to put their faith into practice through spiritual disciplines. It is also very easy to use and is not a book you read from front to back as the author outlines in the preface. The author did an excellent job of keeping topics to the point and explaining them in a way that stays with you. The exercises at the end of each discipline are focused and relate totally to what the discipline is about, giving you "hands-on" tasks.
I would HIGHLY recommend this book for all Christians to further their journey of faith.

"God Is Closer Than You Think"
This is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read and I read A LOT! John Ortberg gives you food for thought and for spiritual growth in a well written manner with his insight and humor.
