Economical because it's cheap, good, and must be watched multiple times!!
This is my personal type of anime: Intriguing, complex, requires multiple viewings to get to know it and even revisiting the anime down the road will allow you to catch subtle nuances you didn't catch the first 3 times you watched it.
It's Rated R for violent and sexual images but I think that's a bit on the conservative side, but that's protectionism for ya I guess. Now if this was Ninja Scrolls I'd certainly consider it an appropriate rating.
Also a bonus is the fact that unlike most anime where the story line includes a decent bit of "chibi" such as over reactions between characters right in the middle of a serious situation, this movie fuses the desire to take a break from the seriousness of the anime with the story itself. I'll take this fusion of chibi into a story any day over the kind that is in stark contrast to and detracts from the story line where you're sitting there waiting for the characters to quit arguing or whining about insignificant events or thoughts.
If you are into the goofy bonks on the head type chibi anime then this anime may be more of a 2 or 3 star for you. In my opinion this anime is a 5 star anime and with the ability to find something new every time I think it more than pays for itself.
